"I studied anthropology and Spanish at the University of Arizona in Tucson. I served in the US Army as a Medical Laboratory Specialist, working for over two years at USAMRIID. I was 16 years an Emergency 911 Operator, and I have worked in various sales positions, including life and health insurance. However, I continue to study and learn.
"I have always wanted to be a writer, but I wanted to do it my own way. I did not want to have my work limited by someone else's imagination. Since 1993, I have studied the Bible and Christianity seriously enough to have made significant progress in describing early Christianity. To write Jesus Christ Divided, I learned to translate New Testament Greek, and I studied the major religious traditions that influenced original Christianity."

"These stories are told with conviction and a sincerity which make them hard to dismiss. His writing has an offbeat cadence that feels both earnest and unpredictable, sometimes philosophical and other times playful. It's a rare voice--- self-aware, but not self-important."
Literary Titan Reviews"What struck me most about LaFond's writing is the raw, unfiltered honesty. He writes like a man who has nothing left to lose, and that lends gravity to every page."
Literary Titan Reviews"The intriguing conclusions that LaFond reaches rest on his anthropological perspective, placing early Christianity into social context, in terms of the community's conflicts with Rome, disillusionment, and need for guidance. Hierarchical tiers of knowledge are explored, as are a range of faiths, sects, and viewpoints, resulting in broad intellectual engagement."
Foreword Clarion Reviews"Michael LaFond has written a thoughtful, detailed, and thorough argument with some startling but surprisingly plausible conclusions. Whether readers agree with him or not, it's certainly a fascinating read for those interested in early Christian history."
Catherine Langrehr for IndieReader"LaFond's enthusiasm is infectious. He lays out his ideas in the manner of a scholastic mystery... ably makes its case..."
